OREGON OBSERVATIONS 15 APRIL 2025

Mapleton water officials speak out about loss of funding for infrastructure. For those who want to jump on the “poor me, poor me” bandwagon, you need to put things in perspective. If Democrats all over the country hadn’t’ve set aside billions of our tax dollars for COVID relief, and then misspent the cash on things like renting an MLB stadium for a schools graduation, luxe hotel stays in Las Vegas and even swimming pool passes, #45/47 wouldn’t be turnin’ off the spigot and tryin’ to claw it back.

NATIONAL NOTES 14 APRIL 2025

China Raises Tariffs On U.S. Goods From 84% To 125% In Latest Trade Retaliation. Now all we gotta do is start makin’ our own stuff in the United States again, and we’ll be set. Think about it. By addin’ 125% to the cost of their stuff, it’s gonna put the previously higher price of US-manufactured goods (caused by the cost of higher labor), on a level playing field. Rep. Boshart Davis shocked over biz owner footing ODOT Bill. Is ANYBODY surprised? I mean, ODOT is billions of dollars in the hole, and tells everybody that pays taxes for their very existence that they can’t keep snow off the roads. Now the latest slap in the face is colluding with other Democrats to make a business owner take six figures outta her pocket to pay for a project that they should be doin’.

National Weather Service halts translation services for non-English speakers. HELLO! Assimilation: the process of becoming a part, or making someone become a part, of a group, country, society, etc. 68 million foreign-born residents of this country haven’t bothered to learn the language. Let me put it this way: If you heard that you could make a ton of money by bein’ a tennis pro, don’t you think it’d be a good idea to learn the rules and know how to play the game BEFORE you stepped onto the court? We oughta enforce a societal and language test as part of the visa application process. If the applicant doesn’t pass, they don’t get to come in. Put THAT in place, finish the wall, and the problem’s solved.
