Eugene wire theft causes fire on telephone pole. Reminds me of when I worked at one of the two steel recyclers in town. We had bums camped out along our fence line on the adjoining ODOT right-of-way. They’d cut the fence at night, get into the yard, and take copper wire that was bailed and waiting to ship out. Then they’d take it to the other steel recycler and sell it. That only stopped when EPD and ODOT made ‘em move.

Deported ‘Maryland man’ championed by Dems was pulled over driving car belonging to human smuggler. Hey all you dipshit Democrats! If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s a duck. “The trooper noticed eight individuals in the car with Abrego Garcia, who said he began driving three days prior from Houston, Texas, to Temple Hills, Maryland, via St. Louis, Missouri, to ‘perform construction work.’ The trooper suspected it was a human trafficking incident, as there was no luggage in the vehicle. Additionally, the individuals in the car reportedly gave the same address as Abrego Garcia’s home address.”

I wonder if they’ll let ‘em use it for free since they helped pay for it. Of course, even if it were free, I don’t know how much fun it’d be after driving 3 to 7 hours just to get here.

Uber warns it may have ‘no choice’ but to leave Colorado ahead of rider safety bill. Okay Uber, here’s the deal. Your business model treats all of your drivers as private contractors, and as such, they’re not really your employees. If somethin’ goes sideways, you can wash your hands of ’em at the drop of a hat. If there hadn’t’ve been so many publicized murders and rapings inflicted on riders by Uber drivers, Colorado wouldn’t’ve had to come up with the law you’re bitchin’ about.
