OREGON OBSERVATIONS.1 27 FEBRUARY 2026

Petitioners seek to create Eugene Clean Energy Fund by taxing retailers. It’d be one thing if they wanted to use this money to plug some of the budget holes they’ve already got, but apparently, they think investing in the wildly expensive and woefully inefficient forms of green energy is the way to go. How about they use it to solve the inevitable pissin’ contests over who has responsibility for what, between them and Lane County? The City of Eugene loves to annex outlyin’ areas into its Urban Growth Boundary to reap the income from the resultant tax and associated permint fees, but when called to rectify a problem in one of those areas, they constantly engage in a finger-pointing contest with the county – and vice versa. And it’s not JUST businesses. Trust me. We live in one of those described areas, and I’ve got file folders full of correspondence from both entities, sayin’ it’s the other one’s problem.

Tourists trapped in Puerto Vallarta recount cartel retaliation after ‘El Mencho’ killed. I’m gonna use this occasion to once again question why ANYBODY would subject themselves to a getaway where the streets are a virtual shootin’ gallery. Here’s an idea: If all the tourists pulled out and stopped goin’ down there, it’d cut off 15% of their economy, and 13% of their national employment. Maybe then Mexico’s government would get serious about puttin’ the cartels outta business – for good.

Texas parents rush to enroll their kids into state’s school choice program. Texas saw the largest school choice rollout in U.S. history, with over 118,000 applications filed as of Friday. Even though it’s Texas, this is proof that commonsense parents are fed up with teachers and teacher unions that’re nothin’ but tentacles of the Democrat octopus, tryin’ to convince kids that they need to bat for the other team, while they’re demonstrating against wetback removal.

OREGON OBSERVATIONS 26 FEBRUARY 2026

Mexico travel chaos: Eugene and Springfield locals share their experiences. If I’ve asked you once, I’ve asked you a hundred times – with competing cartels runnin’ that country, why in the hell are people still goin’ down there? Contrary to what you may’ve heard, dodgin’ bullets, explosions, and riskin’ bein’ kidnapped, isn’t the textbook definition of a vacation. Ask anybody who’s spent any time in a combat zone, and they’ll tell you the same thing.
