Delta passenger upset after losing first-class seat to a dog. Before you dog lovers get your hackles up, you need to know what the linked story’s about – the epidemic of dog aficionados going online, getting a phony doctor’s note, and then jumping over to Amazon and buyin’ a “service animal” vest, just so they can take their mut with ’em to grandma’s house for Christmas. This practice is another exploitation of the federal ADA law, and dog lovers’ve been doin’ it in retail outlets for years, apparently feeling they have the right to take their 4-legged kid anywhere THEY go. Some retailers around town used to have signs at their entrances that said “Service dogs welcome,” but I guess they gave up because, apparently, EVERYBODY says their dog meets the ADA’s requirements. What service does a Chihuahua serve, sitting in the shopping cart’s small item section, being pushed around the store? And don’t get me started about seeing a leashless dog liftin’ its leg and pissin’ on boxes of cereal in Walmart.
