Surgeon shares story of insurance provider calling during patient’s surgery. As hard as it is to believe, for me, the linked article is a classic “been there, done that.” Years ago, I was in a dentist’s chair, numbed-up, with a mouth full of rubber dam and other instruments, when the dentist stopped in mid-procedure and asked me if there would be a problem paying for my portion of the work. I replied no, and he continued. To this day, I still can’t believe I was subjected to the unprofessional experience. Shortly afterward, I stopped seeing him, and to this day, I refer to him as a Nazi war dentist.
