Fire season in the Pacific Northwest is approaching half a billion dollars in estimated costs. I know you’re tired of hearin’ me say it, but here’s an idea: Instead of tryin’ to get more blood from the turnip (dollars from the taxpayers), why don’t they use some of the $7 billion they spend on wetbacks and bums every year to pay for any unexpected firefighting costs they run into?
