County at odds with Sanipac parent company over waste fee going unpaid. The official response from Lane County has bullshit written all over it. How do they KNOW Springfield residents avail themselves of the services provided by the fee they’re not collecting? Have they conducted a poll? What appears to be an honest effort to comply with county regs is costing Sanipac a lot of time and money. Instead of making the short drive just south of Glenwood with the garbage they’ve collected from Springfield, their trucks are drivin’ 232 miles back and forth to the Medford area to dump it. Sounds like the county’s got sour grapes ’cause they’re not gettin’ their pound of flesh.
