It boils down (once again) to Hippieville havin’ to increase our utility bills ’cause they spend too much of your money on touchy-feely stuff. Viewed from another perspective, a case can be made for Lane County raisin’ your property taxes ’cause the city needs more from their cut to put out fires or send an ambulance. Until cities, counties, and this state finally decide to start usin’ Transition Centers and spendin’ $71 million a year on the bums instead of the almost $6 billion they spend now, you’ll continue to see headlines like this.
