‘PANDEMIC OF VIOLENCE’: Lightfoot’s record on crime at the forefront of Chicago mayoral election. If the voters of Chicago elect this world-class idiot again, they’re collectively dumber than a box of rocks. I mean, come on – this women’s been sitting on her hands the entire time violent crime has skyrocketed to heights never seen before. For the uninitiated, here’s the oath she swore when she assumed the office of mayor: “I do solemnly swear (affirm) that I will support the Constitution of the United States, and the Constitution of the State of Illinois, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office of mayor to the best of my ability.” This means that under United States constitutional law, police power is the capacity of the states to regulate behavior and enforce order within their territory for the betterment of their inhabitants’ health, safety, morals, and general welfare. Violent crime in Chicago consistently runs four times higher than the national number. Suppose voters in Chicago re-elect Lightfoot the Loser. In that case, they might as well give away everything they own to the criminals and move out of state – kicking themselves in the ass because their vote contributed to the lawlessness that defines Chicago. People – elections have consequences. When the soft-on-criminal types are elected, life gets hard on everybody else. Just ask anybody that lives in Chicago.

OREGON OBSERVATIONS.1 28 NOVEMBER 2022

Why losing a supermajority could have bigger impacts during predicted recession. The linked article highlights the Democrats’ mourning after losing their years-long supermajority – mourning because it means the voters finally woke up and took away their checkbook. You know – the one they used to ram through the sort of tax-and-spend legislation for which Democrats everywhere are famous. Probably a GOOD thing, considering this state’s minority (7 out of 36) woke progressive counties stepped over a commonsenser to put another liberal fanatic in the governor’s mansion. If Queen Kotek ever gets a supermajority back, you’d better buckle up and dig up that jar of quarters you buried in the backyard ’cause you’re going to need it.

OREGON OBSERVATIONS 28 NOVEMBER 2022

Much of state grant money for traffic enforcement goes unspent in Oregon. Overall, cities and counties only spent 59% of the money given them by the state “for law enforcement work focused on speeding, impaired and distracted driving, seatbelt use, and pedestrian safety.” When asked why the money wasn’t used, the local agencies guilty of underspending pointed to staffing shortages as one of the excuses – shortages caused in no small part by the woke progressives’ incessant calls to defund police everywhere. Even if the federal government loosens the rules so that the grant dollars can be spent on other things besides overtime, until the left’s defund the police culture goes away, and law enforcement agencies stop hemorrhaging officers, the number of traffic fatalities will continue to rise – one more thing to thank the Democridiots for.

NATIONAL NOTES 27 NOVEMBER 2022

Government spending bills could make lame-duck session one of most expensive ever. Folks, it’s time to buckle up. Here we are in the post-election glow of a GOP takeover in the House, and those of us that’ve followed politics for years know what’s coming – two months of spending bucketsful of your tax dollars on woke progressive want-list items. Like a herd of thirsty cattle that smell water, a stampede of Democrats is in a helluva hurry to spend your money while they still have control over the purse strings. Anybody experienced in the governmental budgeting process is familiar with the end-of-fiscal-year drill – spend whatever money you’ve got left, or you’ll lose that much from your allocation in the upcoming budget. For the Democrats in Congress, it’s the same mindset, only happening at a higher level.

OREGON OBSERVATIONS 27 NOVEMBER 2022

Eugene residents speak out on proposal to prohibit natural gas in new homes. This quote from one of the speakers sums it up: “Mayor and councilors, you simply do not have the support of the majority of the people who live in Eugene and the surrounding areas to ban natural gas. You are representatives of this community. You are not dictators and you do not have the authority to make decisions, which negative[sic] impact the lives of your constituents.”

DAILY DELIBERATIONS 27 NOVEMBER 2022

Suspect in Colorado gay club shooting is nonbinary, defense says. Pay attention, people. The woke progressive MS media and their liberal audience would have you believe that conservative straight people perpetrate any violence taken against the LBGTQ community. The person that just killed five people in the Centennial State was a rainbow flag-waver who used all the fashionable pronouns employed by that crowd. There ya go. Another left-wing MS media stereotype bites the dust.
