NATIONAL NOTES.2 23 FEBRUARY 2023

A ‘baby bond’ bill to give every child $1,000 at birth has been reintroduced in Congress. You wanna know WHY we’re $32 trillion in debt? Legislation like this is why. A Democrat thinks that the only meaningful way through life is to obtain the hallowed 4-year (or more) college degree, and the easiest way to get it is to have somebody else pay for it (think Biden and his student loan forgiveness). Here’s a thought – all the service workers in America need to unite. When the tow truck driver, repair technician, plumber, or electrician shows up at the customer’s location, the first thing they need to do is verify their party affiliation. If they’re a Democrat, get back in the truck and return to the shop. The customer shouldn’t be miffed – after all, a card-carrying Democridiot is a staunch believer that the only people worth a damn are the arrogant elitists with bachelors or better degrees. So they should wait on the side of the road, sit in the dark, or wade through the leak in their kitchen until one of those people comes along to take care of ’em. I hope they’ve got more patience than the Democrats in Congress have ’cause it might be a while.

NATIONAL NOTES.1 23 FEBRUARY 2023

Austin man threatened with fines for code violations after suspected drunk driver plows through spare bedroom. Austin’s in the news again. Folks, I’m tellin’ you – ya can’t make up this stuff. Leave it to WP Austin to fine the homeowner for letting his house get in the way of a drunk driver. If you want to visit Texas, go ANYWHERE except the Austin area for an authentic Texas experience. Instead of going to Austin, you might as well save your money and travel to other more-visited WP destinations like SF or NYC.

NATIONAL NOTES 23 FEBRUARY 2023

28 groups urge Biden admin to support women’s sports, fight ‘unlawful’ Title IX reg. Is anybody keeping track of how many times this dumb sonofsbitch’s been sued in the last two years? It’s GOT to be some kind of a record. You know, generally, if something hurts, you quit doing whatever caused the pain. That’s nature’s stop sign, but obviously, the Idiot in Chief and his tag-along Democrats aren’t phased by that because no matter how often they get sued by commonsense groups and governments, they keep enacting these dumbass and unconstitutional rules. At this point, I’d like to remind everybody what the definition of insanity is: doing the same thing, the same way, repeatedly and expecting different results.

OREGON OBSERVATIONS 23 FEBRUARY 2023

Eugene gas ban petitioners reach signature goal. Well, I’ll be damned. It would appear there ARE a few commonsensers living in Eugene after all – at least 6,853 so far. That’s how many have signed a petition to let the voters decide that banning gas in newly constructed homes in the May election was a bad idea. They’d get a lot more signatures if they’d allow those of us living in the suburbs to vote on such issues. As it is, I don’t remember seeing a chance to vote for the mayor of Eugene on our ballots – a question I’ll pose to whoever serves as their secretary of state and let you know. Ps: in this case, it’s the City Recorder’s office, and when I talked with them, I was told, while she understood my frustration, only people that resided in Eugene proper are allowed to vote for mayor, get a free library card, or sign the petition. If I drove downtown, found a solicitor, and signed the petition, my signature would be thrown out because I didn’t live in the Eugene core area. This was the response I expected, and it mirrors my experience – we’re residents of Eugene when it’s convenient, advantageous, or makes money for the City of Eugene. Otherwise, we’re Lane County residents.
