NATIONAL NOTES.2 29 MARCH 2023

Message from Wayne Peacock, USAA President & CEO:

Fifty years have passed since the final American military forces left Vietnam and our remaining prisoners of war were returned. Even after the passage of five decades, we still owe these veterans a large debt of gratitude. During the conflict, political controversy and disagreement were sadly misdirected toward those who had admirably served our nation. When these brave warriors returned from Vietnam, they received neither a hero’s welcome nor appreciation for their service that they deserved, but instead got apathy, anger and hate. Disappointingly, many were left to struggle alone with self-doubt, shame and the memories of those left behind. After their wartime service ended, these unsung heroes went to work, served in government and became involved in their communities. Vietnam War-era veterans went on to lead Fortune 500 companies, direct Oscar-winning films, create a prominent computer-programming language, map the human genome and many other outstanding accomplishments. Today, there are approximately 6 million living veterans from the Vietnam era – more than 30% of America’s veteran population. March 29 – National Vietnam War Veterans Day – is dedicated to these heroes. You can honor them by watching the National Veterans Memorial and Museum’s Welcome Home Ceremony at 10 a.m. EDT. The keynote speaker will be Capt. J. Charles “Charlie” Plumb (USN, Ret.), a naval aviator who was shot down and held prisoner in Vietnam for six years. He’s legendary for his story “Who Packs Your Parachute?” The 50th National Vietnam War Veterans Day is a national opportunity to share our appreciation for the sacrifices made by a generation of veterans. Thank you, Vietnam veterans, for your courage in war and service to our nation, both in and out of uniform.

NATIONAL NOTES 29 MARCH 2023

Former Coast Guard member says lack of patriotism in Gen Z is culprit for low recruitment. YA THINK! Thanks to a lack of childhood preparedness from their parents, Gen Z is floundering in a directionless void, ignorant of their civic responsibilities, the document that gives them their freedom, or the basic knowledge of what freedom IS. The previous generation entered the world of adulthood hooked on video games. Gen Z became an adult with a constant connection to social media fed through an IV tube connected to their cell phone. They can’t make any decisions in life without guidance from their on-line groupies or followers found in their sacred digital Bible. It’s no wonder ALL service branches are struggling with recruitment, not just the Coast Guard. If this doesn’t turn around, China, Russia, Iran, or North Korea will give them a lesson in subjugation as they launch their hypersonic missiles aimed at an unprepared and understaffed military. They won’t like what comes next if they manage to live through the invasion. All the apps on their phones will be replaced with reruns of propaganda videos extolling the virtues of sacrificing personal freedoms and everything else for the greater good of communism. That might be reality’s slap in the face to Gen Z, but it’ll be too late by then. All they’ll be able to do is wallow in their self-pity for not defending the freedoms they had under the United States Constitution.

DAILY DELIBERATIONS.1 29 MARCH 2023

Minnesota advances ‘trans refuge’ bill opponents say would strip custody from non-consenting parents. Leave it to a nest of Democrats to pass a law that would take away a kid from their parents after the kid’s teacher convinced them they were born with the wrong equipment, and the parents pushed back. I’m tellin’ you – Democrats are taking this country to hell in a handbasket.

Students deserve to know this shocking truth about communism. It’s not enough for schools to rip cell phones outta their hands. It’s vital they teach students the cold hard facts about communism and what’ll happen if we let its tentacles slime their way onto our shores. If that day ever comes, there won’t be any more sea-to-shining sea to sing about. Communists will take away anything you own, move you into a communal high rise surrounded by barbed wire, and blast 24/7 propaganda through the government-owned TV bolted to the bare wall of the 3-room hovel you get to call home.

Sen. Mark Warner says he’ll return Silicon Valley Bank donations if evidence of ‘malfeasance.’ THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE DEFINITION OF A POND SCUM DEMOCRAT! Let me get this straight. WP money managers at SVB cared more about which Democrat’s pocket to put money in than how to maximize dividends for their shareholders. After the WPs let their bank fail, this asshole’s got to think about whether or not to give their donation back?

OREGON OBSERVATIONS 28 MARCH 2023

Who is funding the rioters? You don’t think YOUR tax dollars are? Read the linked article and think again. Wait, it gets better. Oregon used $145,000 of taxpayer COVID money “to a local Oregon non-profit that supplies food, snacks, and water to on-site rioters during a riot” and “$800,000 in Oregon tax dollars to fund extreme “abolish police” leftist non-profit.”
