Say what you want, but in an oft-repeated observation that appears on these pages, if American values are vanishing, it didn’t start with the Chinese virus. It started much earlier. Do you think there should be term limits for Congress? OF COURSE, but therein lies the rub. The members of Congress and senators in office would have to sponsor and pass a bill to make that happen, and the president would have to sign it. Think about it. That’d be like interviewing for a $174,000-a-year job, being accepted for that job, and when you walked into the office on your first day, being told the longest you could work there was 6 to 12 years. Do you think ANY of ’em knocking down THAT kind of money and holding THAT kind of power will voluntarily give it up? I don’t think so, but I guess there’s a first time for everything.
