New Details / Oregon’s Homelessness State of Emergency Funding: By the numbers. There you have it. Oregon’s latest bum care numbers alone are nearly $100 million. Do you know what it’d cost to pave two 15-acre plots and erect a few dozen buildings? Estimates vary based on quality and amenities. However, they’d be around $7 or $8 billion on the frugal end. So instead of oversized doghouses surrounded by the same ol’ squalor everywhere you look, you’d see a bumless landscape unless you owned a ranch east of the mountains, then you’d see a fenced-in apartment complex on the periphery of a community center.
