OREGON OBSERVATIONS 9 MAY 2023

$60 billion fled liberal states to conservative ones. In case you haven’t figured it out, the only reason Oregon wasn’t included in the research leading up to the linked article is sheer numbers. Comparatively, the $121.5 million in adjusted gross income Oregon lost wouldn’t graph well compared to the billions of dollars that the bluest of blue states’ve lost, but it’s a loss nevertheless.

Colombian nationals spike US Army soldiers’ drinks before ripping them off, FBI says. This one caught my eye because it’s a reminder of the kinds of unscrupulous local nationals brought out by a foreign presence of DOD personnel. I might’ve told you this before, but the linked article underscores its continued relevance. During the Gulf War, I spent countless trips between our base close to the Iraqi border and the closest sizeable Arabian metropolitan area where we could purchase repair parts for our vehicles and heavy equipment. During those trips, I saw a few cargo trailers that’d been broken into, having been left on the side of the road because the tractor towing them had broken down and had itself been removed by a wrecker. I had turned in a 24V generator for repair and continually inquired about the repair’s status, as without it, we had a vehicle deadlined (inoperational). After about a week, I asked again and was told their repair shop had finished rewinding the generator, and he presented me with a cardboard box. Inside was a brand-new Leece-Neville generator, still covered in cosmoline. It was obvious to me that it had been stolen from one of the trailers I had seen sittin’ on the shoulder, and now he was charging me a couple of hundred bucks for it.

NATIONAL NOTES.2 8 MAY 2023

Biden setting stage for pardoning Hunter as he frames potential DOJ charges as ‘political witch hunt.’ Let’s all settle down and take a realistic look at what’s happening here. As much as we all relish the thought of Hunter the Scumbag being dragged out of his palatial California hidey-hole in handcuffs, you do realize if that happens during the next 20 months and 12 days at the very first opportunity, his dad’s going to grant him a presidential pardon. The only way we justice-seekers will receive COMPLETE satisfaction is for the DOJ to finish building an air-tight case in what’s left of 2023 and all of 2024. In the afternoon of 20 January 2025, after the new president is sworn in, THAT’S when the SWAT team needs to swoop in and arrest the sleazebag tweaker. Unless I’m WAAAYY off the mark, the new guy at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave will be a Republican, and any chance of a pardon will be gone with the wind. The more I think about it, even if Comer reveals enough to put Lyin’ Biden in jail next Wednesday, they need to hold off until the next president is sworn in, or Cringeworthy Kamala will pardon ALL of the Biden crime family.

OREGON OBSERVATIONS.1 8 MAY 2023

Portland, OR Mayor Wheeler unveils $7.1B budget focusing on homeless, crime. Is it just me, or does all Democrat math make it look like they went to school at a fantasy camp somewhere? What do I mean? Wimpy Wheeler rolls out his $7.1 billion budget. Thinking that number seemed a tad optimistic, from a solubility perspective, I researched their numbers. According to page 104 of the City of Portland, Oregon – FY 2022-23 Adopted Budget, Total External Revenues are $3.6 billion. The way I learned math, that’s a $3.5 billion shortfall – essentially, he’s proposing to spend twice as much as he’s taking in. If you look at the bottom line (Total NET Budget), it adjusts to $5.4 billion – $1.7 billion more than he’s taking in, which includes internal revenue and transfers. Those numbers are dipped in red ink in the real world but not in Democrat Fantasyland. Considering the tsunami of lost revenue Portland’s about to experience, caused by the mass migration away from out-of-control criminals and bums, these numbers can only get worse.
