OREGON OBSERVATIONS 28 MAY 2023

Ploy Shows Measure 113’s Unconstitutionality. Now THAT’S a lead-in that needs to grow legs if I ever saw one. If 113 were to face a legal challenge and lose, I’d throw a kegger. Although, any test to its legitimacy will probably have a rough row to hoe in a state where all the Supreme Court justices were put on the bench by a Democratic governor – Queen Brown, no less.

OREGON OBSERVATIONS 27 MAY 2023

Eugene Public Library faces ‘dire cuts,’ foundation says. Maybe somebody involved in the city’s budget-writing process finally figured out that the downtown library’s become bum-hangout-central and a place to get accosted just tryin’ to get in the door. Wadda you expect when you build a library across the street from the central county bus station? You couldn’t attract more bums if you put a 7-11 next to a set of railroad tracks.

Prince Harry loses legal challenge to pay for police protection while in the UK. Okay, let’s back up a minute here. I think I know where this is going. So, Harry wants to pay for UK security out of his pocket every time he goes home to see Dad? But hold on – if he doesn’t want to perform his duties as a royal, how long will his pile of cash last? Since his dad (now the king) cut him off after he abdicated his royal duties, apparently, he’s living off of his inheritances from his mom ($10 million) and an unknown amount from his grandmother when she passed. Reports indicate their US security costs $2-3 million a year. Add to that the cost of maintaining a 7.4-acre estate in an exclusive neighborhood, and one would think Megan better start landing some acting gigs to keep ’em afloat before the inheritance runs out – and she better hurry. At the rate they’re going, she’s only got a few years mathematically.

NATIONAL NOTES.1 26 MAY 2023

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., is facing scrutiny after he claimed last week that the “whole reason” for the 14th Amendment was to assist with debt negotiations. Alright. I’m gonna ask for the umpteenth time – how in the hell did 50 ½% of Pennsylvanian voters (all Democrats, I might add) think this guy was United States Senator material? From his just-released statement, he clearly doesn’t know a damned thing about the 14th Amendment to the Constitution. How long will we have to wait until he dazzles us with ANOTHER example highlighting his utter lack of knowledge concerning the document he swore to defend?
