OREGON OBSERVATIONS.1 21 JUNE 2023

Legislation Introduced by Democrats to Remove the Exception for Slavery From the United States Constitution. Oregon’s junior Senator is at it again. I’ve heard of these efforts before, but while the Democrats sponsoring the measure caterwaul from their soapbox that it’s all about removing the word slavery from the Constitution, what they DON’T tell you, is that once that happens, work programs for incarcerated people will probably come to a screeching halt, like the daily road cleanup crews monitored by the sheriff’s department.

OREGON OBSERVATIONS 21 JUNE 2023

Portland resident sounds alarm over city’s ‘Safe Rest Village’ program: Area of ‘organized crime and drugs.’ Duh. Whaddaya expect from a bunch of Democrats? The “Safe Rest Village” concept was bad enough when Portland Democridiots came up with the idea, but it got worse when they hired a donkey’s ass non-profit out of California to run it. Bottom line? If you live in the area impacted by bums stealing your water, dealing drugs in daylight, accompanied by loud screams at all hours, and you voted for Wimpy Wheeler or any of the Democridiot politicians running Portland, suck it up. You got what you voted for.

DAILY DELIBERATIONS.1 21 JUNE 2023

State Considers Banning Receipts And Coupons – Again. Leave it to California Democridiots. Maybe this is why the Golden State has so many money problems – its elected officials don’t know what a receipt is or what it’s used for. It’s no wonder that the state’s budget is currently running a $22.5 billion deficit. But let’s get back to the receipt thing. If they ban stores from printing receipts, how are consumers supposed to return a defective item or one they want to exchange for a different size or color? And how are they supposed to remember how much they spent on the purchase? Carry a notepad with them and write notes throughout their shopping trip? That pretty much cancels out the idiot Democrat’s “save the planet” argument he’s using to propose banning them in the first place. For whatever reason, and I don’t think it has a damned thing to do with killing trees, younger people don’t like or want receipts. Anytime a clerk, usually young enough to be my daughter or granddaughter, asks me if I want a receipt, after telling them “yes,” I give them a piece of advice: If the customer looks like they’re over 50 years old, don’t ask. Just give ‘em the receipt.

DAILY DELIBERATIONS 21 JUNE 2023

Convenience store clerk sues after being fired for confronting knife-wielding thief. This one clearly falls in the “I hope she wins” column. All retail outlets should put large signs on every entrance, evoking the sentiment that could’ve come from a Dirty Harry movie … “Unless you can catch a hollow point with your teeth, stealing anything from this establishment is probably not a good idea. Do you feel lucky, punk?”

OREGON OBSERVATIONS 20 JUNE 2023

Without education budgets passed, Lane Community College district taxpayers could foot $500,000 interest bill. Hey Democrats – ESPECIALLY you Lane County WP Democrats. If you hadn’t elected a bunch of bleeding hearts to work in Salem, like the rest of western Oregon, we wouldn’t be in this mess. What do I mean? All the Democrats in Salem know how to do is pick up a paper, turn on the west coast news, see what’s happening in Sacramento, and craft carbon-copy anti-gun, pro-abortion bills to cram down our throats. Finally, Senate conservatives said enough was enough and walked out, denying a quorum. Even though, thanks to Measure 113, doing so will hamstring their political careers. The Democrats are now thinking about a bill to change Oregon’s constitution that will remove the two-thirds requirement for a quorum. If that bill were to pass and become signed into law, the transformation would be complete – Oregon would become another California.

DAILY DELIBERATIONS.1 20 JUNE 2023

Detransitioned 18-year-old’s lawyer slams Kaiser MD’s, says kids should be warned about outgrowing gender dysphoria. Another case of “I hope she wins.” Thinking about what they’re doing before they do it brings to mind a couple of carpenter adages that’re sage advice for anyone thinking about switching teams: Measure twice and cut once, and you can add to it, but once you cut it, you can’t put it back on. Just sayin’.
