It’s turned into a national epidemic and needs to be stopped. That means we need to write to the US Senator and Representative from our individual states and tell ’em it needs to be fixed. Any low life with enough sense to fabricate a fake lease can stymie local law enforcement and spit in the face of the legal property owner, effectively stealing their investment. Put yourself in THEIR shoes. Imagine going on your dream vacation for a couple of weeks, only to return to a pack of bums living in the house that you paid for or are still payin’ for – and it’s not over yet. You call the cops, the bums show them a fake/forged lease, and law enforcement shrugs and says there’s nothin’ they can do. At that point, you and your family get back in the car with nothing more than suitcases full of dirty clothes that you wore on your vacation to go find a motel and a laundromat. Meanwhile, all your earthly possessions are at the mercy of the landscape-destroyin’ bums that are using what they want and trashing the rest. It’s time to slam the brakes on these inbred scumbags that’ve become the scourge of this country.

Those of us endowed with even the average amount of common sense knew better than to vote for Measure 110. Now that the bleedin’-heart Democrats’ve exposed what a bunch of idiots they are to an entire nation, the only surprising thing is that the Democridiots in Salem had the guts to overrule all the Willamette Valley liberals who voted for it and put it over the top when it was approved.

Reference the preceding NN posting, here’s the email I sent to my locally elected federal politicians: Senator Ron Wyden, Senator Jeff Merkley, and Representative Val Hoyle: It’s past time to end the national epidemic of squatters, whose incidents of outright thievery have received increasing publicity. For those who might say it’s an issue for the states to solve, I say hogwash. It’s occurring with alarming frequency in multiple states, which requires a federal solution. Put yourselves in the shoes of the victims. These people have the biggest investment of their lives (at least for those of us that’re ninety-nine percenters) stolen by a ne’er-do-well who finds a house, knows how to gain access to a computer, and printer creates a fake lease, kicks the door in, and takes up residency. Grand larceny is grand larceny. It doesn’t matter if it’s an empty $300,000 (or more) home that’s vacant because it’s on the market or a $300,000 (or more) home that’s temporarily unoccupied because the owners are on vacation. I believe a driving factor in the squatter trend is homelessness, and this country has a big problem with it. Years ago, I formulated a solution that includes concept, cost, funding, and location, and have offered to supply the information to this group, as well as my local state legislators. To date, I’ve had no takers, and I am convinced that it’s due in no small part to the partisan makeup of the aforementioned groups.
