OREGON OBSERVATIONS 27 OCTOBER 2022 Leave a Comment / Uncategorized / By admin Bend’s Second Street homeless camp cleanup delayed, ‘most vulnerable’ given more time to find resources. Talk about your déjà vu. Over twenty years ago, I was the service manager for a heavy equipment dealership in Eugene. Our building bordered the Union Pacific right-of-way, and unsurprisingly, there was a burgeoning canvas condo development on our strip of land that was adjacent to the railroad’s property. It grew in size until it finally caught the eye of a reporter, who did a story on it, and all of a sudden, the Democridiots in Eugene’s city hall were having a bleeding-heart melt down. After God knows how many years of its out-of-sight-out-of-mind existence, once it hit the paper’s local section, the mayor’s office decided to have the camp moved. On day one, after the relocation decision was made, the city moved in a port-a-potty. After years of denial, when the Democrats’ apathy was exposed, and after it was decided to move the encampment, THEN they decided to bring in a replacement for the 5-gallon buckets they’d been using to take a shit in. As always, that office full of liberal lefties was a day late and a dollar short. Had Transition Centers been in use at the time, there wouldn’t’ve been a requirement for the feigned display of concern, ‘cause there wouldn’t have been any bums and bumettes to be concerned about. 3 1
