When we first started hearing about it, the stories circulating were about mothers getting ransom demand calls. They swore the voice they heard – pleading with them to pay the captors – was their daughter, when in fact, it was AI-generated, using snippets of the daughter’s actual voice. I’ve seen stories about how AI will play a significant role in the 2024 elections. Who’s to say it hasn’t already started?
