Seattle starts hiring unarmed ‘alternate response teams’ to respond to 911 calls. Crisis responders will be dispatched instead of police officers for behavioral health emergencies. The last time I checked, a person can’t see through a phone line to ascertain if someone with the “behavioral health emergency” has a gun pointed at themselves or the other room occupants. Folks, you need to keep your eye on this one, ’cause if what I expect is gonna happen, happens, you know me, you’ll be reading an I told you so in caps.
