Gov. Tina Kotek’s advisory council floats possible massive tax increases to meet housing production goal. Here’s an idea: Let the people who’re in the housing construction business do that and leave us taxpayers out of it. 4 out of the 5 Housing Production Advisory Council’s recommendations were to increase taxes on somethin’, while the 5th one proposed overriding a voter-approved ceiling. What good does it do for the taxpayers of this state to restrict what the Democrats in Salem do if all they’re gonna do is try and find a way around it? Here’s a BETTER idea: quit electing Democrats for ANYTHING! That’d solve all our problems.
