DAILY DELIBERATIONS 11 JULY 2024

Tire falls off United Airlines plane during takeoff at LAX, 2nd time in months. Even though Boeing built the plane, you can’t blame this one on the manufacturer. Considering the hundreds of United flights that take off and land at hundreds of airports every day, it’s really hard to blame it on their business as a whole. Where you have to focus is United’s California operations. I mean, come on. Two cases of tires detaching after take-off from two different Golden State airports and an engine flame out over the Pacific Ocean from one of ’em. Mathematically, the odds of those occurring in one state, considering the size of their fleet, are mind-boggling, so it must be something in the water or the hippiefied culture ingrained in Californian society.
