Mayor Vinis faces backlash over Eugene’s homeless camp sweeps. Trust me – I’m no fan of the mayor. Hell, I can’t even vote for the mayor, even though I have a Eugene address and live in its Urban Growth Boundary. The more I think about it, tearin’ down the bum camps when they get outta hand is probably one of the only things she gets right in my book. But I guess I hate the whiny, bleedin’ heart bum lovers worse than her. As I’ve said a jillion times before, if the city would pool their money with the county and state to fund Transition Centers, we wouldn’t have to put up with any bum squalor, and they wouldn’t be pissed off about the sweeps, ’cause there wouldn’t be any bum camps to sweep.
