OREGON OBSERVATIONS.1 15 APRIL 2026

Oregon stops issuing commercial driver’s licenses to noncitizens amid federal pressure. The only way #45/47 was able to hold Salem Democrats’ feet to the fire and make this happen was by threatening to withhold the millions of federal dollars this state receives annually for transportation. Of course, this state’s run by wetback lovers, and that precluded it from voiding all of the active CDLs that were issued to illegal aliens like they should’ve. I wonder what’ll happen if an illegal alien kills somebody in a wreck he caused while operating on a CDL issued by the State of Oregon?

OREGON OBSERVATIONS.1 14 APRIL 2026

Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce President Weighs in on Gov. Kotek’s Prosperity Initiative.  A new statewide survey released Tuesday by Gov. Tina Kotek’s Prosperity Council found that most Oregonians believe high costs, taxes, and regulations are hurting businesses and limiting their ability to grow. In Eugene, local business leaders said taxes are a major concern, particularly Oregon’s corporate activity tax. From a commonsense standpoint, there’s nothin’ new here. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: The CAT tax was one of the worst things dreamed up by a Democrat legislature and signed into law by the Democrat in the governor’s mansion. Whether you as the consumer realize it or not, to some extent, the tax doesn’t stop with the business that’s bein’ gouged. It’s priced into the product and passed on to customers through higher prices.

OREGON OBSERVATIONS 14 APRIL 2026

Oregon Republicans race to overturn tax increase as signature deadline looms. If you have a chance, please sign the petition, or, if you want, request to help gather signatures at https://notaxor.com/. In case you’ve forgotten, SB1507 is the one that said Oregon’s not gonna mirror some of the federal tax code anymore, so the state won’t havta extend the same tax breaks that #45/47 gave us. It’s no wonder Oregon has plummeted to the bottom in national fiscal climate rankings. Need another example? When voters approved a change to the Oregon Constitution and created the Kicker, little did they realize – because they keep sendin’ Democrats to Salem – that it was low-hangin’ legislative fruit, ripe for the pickin’. In past years, our Kicker was well over $1000. This year, it was only in the hundreds, and thanks to ANOTHER change put in place by Salem Democrats, it was added to the current year’s refund (instead of an outright check like it used to be). Whatever the amount is, it becomes taxable income towards next year’s obligations. QUIT ELECTIN’ DEMOCRATS!!!

DAILY DELIBERATIONS.1 14 APRIL 2026

CNN Declared Michael J. Fox Dead, Much To Michael J. Fox’s Surprise: “Wtf?” How’s that go? Reports of his death have been greatly exaggerated. CNN’s on its last legs. From 2017 to the start of 2025, it lost 40% of its viewership. In 2025 alone, it lost another 27%. If they don’t turn it around somehow, I don’t think they’ll be around to cover the New Year’s Eve ball drop in Times Square many more times.
