Colorado Airbnb host faces $16K in damages after suspected migrant gang members ‘destroy’ property. Obviously, Airbnb, whose job it is to perform background checks on potential rental customers on behalf of the property owner, screwed the pooch on this one. This is not surprising, considering the following: “Airbnb also has a track record of being vocal on broader societal matters, including immigration, same-sex marriage, homelessness, and discrimination. More recently, it publicly donated to the Black Lives Matter movement.” So there ya go.

During a critical time in Oregon, while wildfires raged and voters wondered where their Congresswoman was, Val Hoyle relaxed at a waterfront hotel in Maine. To add insult to injury, our District 4 Representative ‘voted against H.R.8790 Fix Our Forests Act (FOFA), the only bipartisan wildfire prevention legislation to emerge from the House of Representatives during the 118th Congress.’ So apparently, she flew up the East Coast to a hoity-toity resort on 13 September (while we, her District constituents, were coughin’ on wildfire smoke), only to return to DC and say no to HR 8790 on 26 September. The sooner she’s voted outta office, the better.

Israel passes two bills to restrict the work of a UN agency that is a lifeline for Gaza. Anybody following news in the Middle East should be able to figure out WHY they passed the law. The UN’s UNRWA (the aid agency) had workers who accompanied Hamas and went across the border to take part in the killings of 1200 Israelis in the October 7th massacre last year. Is it any wonder why they were banned?
