Virginia teacher shot by 6-year-old student files $40 million lawsuit against school. Can I get a “Hell yeah?” The teacher warned school officials that the kid had a gun and was in a violent mood before the shooting, yet they did nothing. But why does her suit stop there? If a pistol was in the child’s house for self-defense, why didn’t the parent(s) take measures to prevent access? Does Virginia have laws making it mandatory to store firearms so that they’re unavailable to unauthorized people? All questions that need to be asked of the commonsense governor they just elected. As has been said about other cases like this, I hope she wins a boatload of money from ANYBODY she sues.
