DAILY DELIBERATIONS 1 AUGUST 2022

Speaking as one who was stationed in Germany in the ’70s and ‘80s and traveled through many of the countries that now make up the European Union, I’ll be the first on to say I miss the good ol’ days of the German Mark, the Italian Lira, and the French Franc. The longer the EU exists, the greener it’s become, and unless something changes, I’m afraid the member nation’s embracing Environmental, Social, and Governance will do them in, even if Russian bombs don’t. Has anyone been paying attention to what’s happening in the Netherlands? The farmers are in full revolt because their government greenies have voted to drastically reduce emissions by making them thin or get rid of their cattle herds. Similar events just caused the resignation of Sri Lanka’s head of state. These woke progressive countries are going to ESG themselves to death if they don’t piss off the Russians enough for them to start entering launch codes first. Agreeing with the speaker in the linked piece, who’s idea was it at EU headquarters to become dependent on Russia for ANYTHING, much less supplies critical to their infrastructure and society like gas and oil? Stupid is as stupid does. You might want to book that trip to Paris sooner than later, or you might not be able to tell the difference between it and Hiroshima in 1945.
