Ward 7 is the lightning rod for the latest EMX arterial-destroying project from Lane Transit and is wildly unpopular among River Road area residents. The only people that want it are LTD leadership looking for the federal matching dollars it’ll bring in, and bleeding-heart Democrats that don’t live in the area, and thus, won’t be affected by the major traffic slowdowns it’ll bring. This will be a carbon copy of the devastation they brought to West 11th Avenue several years ago, when they shoved EMX expansion down the throats of the businesses that line W 11th Ave. LTD used imminent domain to reduce the size of their parking lots for pennies on the dollar, leaving even less room for their customers to park than they had before. And for what? So they could watch the bend-in-the-middle buses drive by carrying three to five people in a 50 passenger bus? 4 1
