The Associated Press, quoting from a resignation letter by Oregon elections director Deborah Scroggin, suggested on Dec. 12 that Scroggin was voluntarily leaving her job. Scroggin says the AP never interviewed her and that, in fact, her boss, Secretary of State Shemia Fagan, asked for her resignation. Is anybody surprised that the Secretary of State asked for her resignation when she resisted turning the elections office into a concierge service for Democrats? No wonder everybody east of the mountains wants to join Idaho.
