Oregon S&R team rescues over 20 cars after GPS app leads them to snow-covered road. As sophisticated as navigational technology’s become, the linked article proves we’re not there yet. It reminds me of a story I read years ago, at the very dawn of the vehicle GPS days. A driver in Germany blindfolded his common sense, put it in the backseat, and followed the GPS instructions wherever it took him. He drove right off a pier into a lake. Or, here’s a better one: A while ago this time of year, a guy drivin’ a Tesla EV in Southern Oregon was followin’ a GPS shortcut to the coast when his battery ran out of charge in the deep snow and had to be towed.

This one is so true. I was just talking about this the other day with a group with compared relatable stories on where they ended up. It also reminds me of the time we three flew into Las Vegas and you rented a car & the GPS kept taking us to roads that ended nowhere.
