Oregon must appoint public defenders to jailed defendants within 7 days or release. Here’s an idea. If the cops had enough evidence to arrest ’em in the first place, let ’em stay in jail until a public defender becomes available. That judge needs to pull his head outta his ass. Obama appointed him – wadda you expect? Do any normal people think it’s okay to turn a murderer loose after seven days ’cause they can’t find a lawyer? Give me a break. How’s that go? Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time.
