OREGON OBSERVATIONS.1 22 May 2025

2025 Special Election results. With few exceptions, the results (at least in this part of Oregon) were clear: People voted  NO to new or increased bonds and levies that would make their property taxes go up. Gee, I wonder why? Oregon has the sixth-highest income tax rate out of all 50 states (only 5 states are taxed more, and 44 are taxed less), and its residents are tired of gettin’ milked like a cow.

OREGON OBSERVATIONS.1 21 May 2025

Alternative proposal to save some Eugene city services could replace fire fee. My regular readers will recognize this as a déjà vu piece, but I can’t overstate it enough. Even the dipshit Democrats that run this town releaize that their additional tax on property owners to pay for basic fire services won’t survive the upcoming November’s ballot measure. As a direct result, they’ve come up with the idea of making people who actually USE the potential discontinued services pay for those services, instead of making every homeowner in town pay for it (even when they don’t avail themselves).
