Late Friday afternoon, several bills, including Senate Bill 1599, were carried over to allow Senators to have further conversations over the weekend. President Wagner believes all members should have the time to thoroughly review and discuss legislation before the Senate. Translation: The Democrats need to spend more time evaluating passage of the tax increases, versus its impact on their havin’ a job if it passes. If it misses the 25 Feb deadline, it won’t be able to appear on May’s ballot, and the referendum will be voted on in the general election in November, like it was supposed to before the governor and her band of demons started screwin’ with it.

Oregon Senate Republicans deny quorum to ‘pause the process.’ My hat’s off to them for their return to the good ol’ days before Measure 113, and my condolences for the walkout’s contribution towards the participant’s 10 unexcused absences. I’m still amazed that the one-party-rule measure passed in counties east of the mountains, where there’s more cattle than people, and common sense is as prevalent as sagebrush.
