I was asked by a city councilor once about how I thought the homeless problem should be fixed. The U.S. economy is being dragged down by the worst inflation in 40 years, and your answer is to shackle small pass-through businesses with an additional 3.8% tax? Those of us imbued with an above-average amount of common sense will tell you that when the economy’s in a slump, the answer’s not to get a bigger shovel so you can dig the hole deeper and faster. The Democrats of this country elected a president that drove the economy into a ditch, and instead of taking the advice of people that could get us back on the road, he grabbed another gear and hit the gas, slinging more mud, and making things worse. The people elect members of Congress they represent to speak on their behalf. How many people in Oregon advise you to follow your party’s agenda and lead us into the dark, impoverished forest of wokeness? ODE’s paying close to $2 million to teach your kids that individual thought and accomplishments don’t count, that it’s all about groupthink.
