OREGON OBSERVATIONS.1 31  JULY 2025

What does President Trump’s Homelessness Executive Order mean for Oregon? The studies this article quotes essentially mirror the findings I used when writing my Transition Center paper. The only noticeable difference between #45/47’s plan and mine is his absence of a skill training component, but if it gets bums off the streets and outta people’s faces while cleanin’ up their squalor, it’s a win-win.

OREGON OBSERVATIONS 30 JULY 2025

Springfield police to install more than two dozen license-plate reading cameras around city. All right. I’m sick and tired of all the whinin’ about these cameras and privacy issues. They only read the license plates, people. If you wanna bitch about cameras and privacy issues, go live in Germany for a while. The stealthy traffic cameras they use move around. I’ve seen ’em on little tripods next to the railing of an overpass (where they blend in and’re hard to detect), with a wire leading down to a control vehicle parked outta sight under the overpass. When THEIR speed trap cameras capture images, the police send a photographic print to the address associated with the license plate number, which includes a clear picture of the license plate, the posted speed, the vehicle’s speed, and the driver, along with any other occupant of the front seat. I shouldn’t have to tell you what happens when that envelope’s opened by half of the married couple, who sees their betrothed rolling through a speed trap snuggled up in the front seat beside the person they’re havin’ an affair with.
