Could America Stop Changing the Clocks? Congress Takes Major Step. As usual, they’re goin’ about this thing assbackwards. If they wanna pass a law so people won’t haveta change their clocks twice a year, then pass a law that keeps sun (standard) time all year. They tried to keep Daylight Time all year long back in the ’70s. It was disastrous, and in less than a year, they put it back to the way it was. What in the hell makes ’em think things’ll turn out different this time? If I’ve told you once, I’ve told you a dozen times: Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.
